Meet the Staff

We at Beverly M. Shafer, MD do our best to offer you premier services:  you really get twice the attention as we address your needs by assuring that you are in excellent condition for surgery, that you are well informed, and that you then heal optimally.

Our other administrative and clinical staff is highly experienced and integral to the management of our medical office.  They can address your queries about consultations, surgical and office visit scheduling, insurance matters, billing and financial assistance. They are ever ready at the other end of a phone.

Leslie Kubic, PA-C Physician Assistant

As a physician assistant seasoned in internal medicine in addition to plastic surgery, Ms. Kubic has become integral to the high standard of care we provide to our patients during the surgical experience.
Ms. Kubic is first assistant to Dr. Shafer and Dr. Fernandes in surgery and participates in the care of hospitalized patients. She sees patients in the office including new, returning, and pre and post-operative patients. It is often Leslie who you will hear from before surgery to ensure that there have been no changes in your health before your surgery and after surgery to check on your well-being. She also performs office procedures including the removal of benign and malignant skin lesions.

Rose Ferrara, Executive Assistant, Surgical Scheduler

Rose is the Office Manager. She is behind the scenes and essential for many of the workings of the medical practice. She is also your point person for scheduling surgery and assuring that your surgery is authorized by insurance. She has been a medical assistant so has the depth of understanding of many of your medical concerns.

Mary Lenhardt, Master Esthetician

Mary Lenhardt, Master Esthetician

Mary Lenhardt is a CIDESCO internationally certified Master Esthetician, Clinical Aromatherapist, Muscular Therapist and Integrative Nutritionist. She is a graduate of The Catherine Hinds Institute of Esthetics, The Myotone Institute of Muscle Therapy, The Pacific Institute of Aromatherapy, and holds a Bachelors of Science from Babson College in Wellesley Massachusetts. She has attended advanced esthetics programs at Regis College (London) and the London School of Clinical Aromatherapy. Mary has travelled extensively and taught locally and internationally since 2001.

Crystal Richardson, Certified Medical Assistant

Crystal Richardson, Certified Medical Assistant

Crystal has been a certified medical assistant for many years. She attended Salem State and graduated from Bryman Institute with certifications as a MA and phlebotomist. She gained her expertise working in Dermatology and ENT before she became a critical member of our team.

Carla Taormina, Administrative Assistant

Carla is a proficient and experienced Jack of all trades: she is our front desk receptionist, scheduler, and biller. She can walk you through the idiosyncrasies of insurance issues, of which there are many. Carla has worked in the medical field for many years.
